What is the difference between IT outsourcing and freelancing?

IT outsourcing and freelancing are two different models of work in the field of information technology. In the case of IT outsourcing, a company hires another company (an outsourcing provider) to perform certain tasks, such as software development, technical support, etc. At the same time, the company can maintain a certain degree of control over the work of the outsourcing provider.

Freelancing is a job done by a freelancer for various clients. A freelancer can work on individual projects (usually on a contract basis), as well as on a full-time basis for several customers.

Thus, the main difference between IT outsourcing and freelancing is that in the case of IT outsourcing, the customer hires a company, and in the case of freelancing, a person. In addition, IT outsourcing allows the company to remain in control while the freelancer works more autonomously.
